1915 Historic Home Restoration in Everett, WA
This Everett project is a perfect example of how a home with over 100 years of history can be thoughtfully restored without losing the details that make it special.

Project Overview
This 1915 Everett home had been owned by the same family for over 100 years before being left vacant. Our team completed a full restoration, modernizing the home with new electrical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen, and bathrooms while preserving the original character and layout.
When we first stepped into this Everett home, it felt like stepping back in time. Built in 1915, the home had been owned by the same family for more than a century. Generations had lived here, leaving behind layers of history in every room.
Although the home required a major renovation, the craftsmanship of early 1900s construction was immediately noticeable. The framing was strong, the layout was thoughtful, and many of the original trim details still remained. Homes built during this era often have better structural bones than many newer houses, which gave us the perfect foundation to restore and modernize the space.
This project included a full remodel of two living areas, a kitchen, dining room, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a spacious basement.
During demolition we uncovered several fascinating pieces of the home’s history. One of the most interesting discoveries was the original steel kitchen cabinetry from early 1900s, likely installed shortly after World War I. Remarkably, every drawer and cabinet door was still functional. The bathrooms appeared to have been updated later, probably sometime during the 1960s or 1970s.
One of the most exciting moments came when we discovered old newspapers hidden in the walls, likely placed there during earlier construction work. It was a reminder that this house had lived through more than a century of history.
To bring the home up to modern standards, we completed a full electrical rewire, all new plumbing lines, a new HVAC system, and new drywall throughout the home. While many elements were rebuilt, we made only minor layout adjustments in order to preserve the original flow and character of the house.
Once the structural work was complete, we focused on restoring the visual character of the home. Matching trim was installed to reflect the original architectural style, and modern cabinetry, appliances, and fixtures were carefully integrated to ensure the home would function comfortably for today's homeowners.
The finished home now blends historic charm with modern comfort, preserving the craftsmanship of 1915 while making the space fully functional for the next generation of homeowners.
Projects like this are challenging, but they are also some of the most rewarding. Restoring a home with this much history is more than just remodeling. It is about respecting the past while preparing the house for the future.
A big thank you to our network of subcontractors, vendors, and designers who helped bring this project to life.
