Taj Mahal Kitchen Remodel in Mill Creek, WA

Before construction, we worked with Jeff and Suzanne to turn their ideas into a complete plan for the new kitchen. Our design process included 3D renderings, a mood board, material selections, and detailed construction drawings so they could see how the different elements would work together before anything was removed.

The direction was bright and timeless, with warm natural tones to keep the white kitchen from feeling too stark. Taj Mahal quartzite became one of the defining materials of the project and helped establish the palette for the rest of the finishes.

Once the design and selections were approved, materials were ordered and we prepared the home for construction.

We kept much of the kitchen's existing footprint while making an important layout change by relocating the refrigerator. This allowed us to create a more intentional cabinetry configuration and improve how the homeowners move through and use the kitchen.

The old cabinetry was replaced with semi-custom white shaker cabinets designed around everyday functionality. Behind the clean exterior are storage upgrades including pull-out trays, pull-out corner storage, and other organizational features that make much better use of the available cabinet space.

The refrigerator was integrated into a new floor-to-ceiling cabinetry section, creating additional storage and giving what was previously an awkward area a much more finished appearance.

One of our favorite elements of this kitchen is the Taj Mahal quartzite. Its soft veining and warm coloration brought natural character into the otherwise bright kitchen and paired beautifully with the existing hardwood flooring.

A warm, lightly textured rectangular tile backsplash was installed between the cabinetry and countertops, adding another subtle layer of texture without overpowering the quartzite.

After approximately four weeks of construction, Jeff and Suzanne had a kitchen that looked dramatically different while still feeling connected to the rest of their home.
