Bathroom Remodel With Mold Remediation in Mill Creek, WA

This bathroom had been remodeled fairly recently, but behind the finished surfaces, moisture problems were already causing mold and damage beneath the walls and flooring.

We recommended a full gut remodel so we could remove the affected materials, identify the source of the moisture, and rebuild the bathroom correctly from the framing out.

The project started with an in-home design consultation. We sat down with the homeowners, reviewed their inspiration photos, discussed how they wanted the bathroom to look and function, and began developing a design around their ideas.

One request was especially important to them: they wanted to introduce soft light blue tones while keeping the bathroom bright with clean white tile and timeless finishes.

Our designer translated those ideas into a complete design package that included a mood board, material selections, detailed renderings, and construction drawings. We also created 360° renderings, allowing the homeowners to virtually look around their future bathroom and experience the design before construction began.

This gave them a much better sense of the layout, colors, materials, and overall feel of the room, while giving our construction team a clear plan to build from.

The homeowners were able to explore this bathroom virtually before construction started, make decisions with confidence, and then watch that design take shape inside their own home.

Once the design was finalized and materials were ready, we removed the bathroom down to the framing. With everything opened up, our focus shifted to correcting the moisture-related issues and rebuilding the space for long-term durability.

We updated the plumbing, improved ventilation and airflow, and installed a carefully planned waterproofing system behind the new tile. Schluter heated floors were also installed, adding one of those features the homeowners get to appreciate every day, especially during colder Northwest mornings.

A freestanding bathtub became the focal point of the room, framed by light finishes and the soft blue tones established during the design phase. Beside it, we built a custom walk-in shower with clean tile lines, frameless glass, and an integrated niche for everyday storage.

The vanity area was upgraded with a modern double-sink vanity that provides considerably more usable storage space. A smart toilet added another layer of everyday comfort and convenience.

Together, the white tile, light blue accents, warm flooring, and carefully selected fixtures created the bright and timeless look the homeowners had envisioned during our first meeting.
