When we first walked into Trevor and Tom’s 1890s farmhouse, their bathroom had a certain historic charm, but it lacked the function needed for everyday living. The space still reflected its original character, yet it was missing key features like a proper shower, and many of the finishes had aged over time.

The goal for this remodel was clear: preserve the farmhouse character while introducing modern comfort and usability.

We started by reimagining the layout to make the space feel more open and practical without losing its historic feel. A brand new walk-in shower became the centerpiece of the room, lined with classic white hexagon tile that continues seamlessly into the shower floor.

To keep the farmhouse aesthetic alive, we installed sage green beadboard along the walls, paired with crisp white trim that highlights the architectural details of the space.

The soft color palette brings warmth and personality while staying true to the home’s historic roots. A curved vanity was selected to add a gentle, timeless shape that complements the older character of the farmhouse rather than competing with it.

Brushed nickel fixtures were chosen throughout the bathroom to tie the entire design together. Their subtle finish adds a refined touch while blending naturally with the vintage-inspired elements of the room.

The final result is a bathroom that feels both refreshed and authentic. It’s brighter, more functional, and thoughtfully designed to honor the history of the home while providing the comfort and practicality needed for everyday life.
