When we first visited this home in Renton, the bathroom had been unusable for months. The bathtub was leaking somewhere behind the walls, but previous attempts to locate the problem had not been successful. Since the bathroom was located on the second floor, the leak was affecting other areas of the house.

Another issue was the toilet setup. The homeowner wanted a bidet toilet, but there was no electrical outlet near the toilet. Because of this, a cable had been run across the vanity just to power it, which created an awkward and messy look.

Before construction started, we worked with the homeowner on the design. One of their requests was to incorporate a mix of blue tones into the bathroom. That design direction led to the selection of a bold blue vanity paired with a custom niche tile that features multiple shades of blue.

Once demolition began, we were finally able to locate the source of the leak. Our team repaired the plumbing and redid the necessary lines to ensure the bathtub and shower system were properly installed moving forward. At the same time, we completed the electrical rough-in so the upgraded bidet toilet could have a proper dedicated outlet.

After the rough work was completed, we installed Schluter waterproofing systems to fully protect the bathtub and wall areas. This step is critical in preventing future leaks and ensuring long-term durability.

With the waterproofing complete, we moved on to the tile installation. The bathtub walls were finished with large marble-look tiles, while the shower niche was designed with a mix of blue tiles to tie into the vanity and overall color theme. The result creates a clean and modern look while still adding personality to the space.

Once the Kohler fixtures, vanity, lighting, and glass enclosure were installed, the bathroom was completely transformed from an outdated and problematic space into a bright, functional bathroom that matched exactly what the homeowner envisioned.
